Dornbirn, August 4, 2026 – The HENN Connector Group has signed an agreement to sell its plastic fluid line business to TE Connectivity. The affected business unit comprises plastic couplings for fluid applications in the automotive industry. Subject to customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close by the end of August 2026.
With this step, HENN is creating the conditions required to further scale the technologies and product solutions developed in recent years within a global environment. TE Connectivity, a global industrial technology leader in connectivity and sensor solutions, will position the acquired technologies and products within its global product portfolio under the name HENN Fluid Line. HENN will continue to play an active role in the further development of the products over the coming years.
Upon completion of the transaction, the employees of the affected business unit will transfer to TE Connectivity. As part of the acquisition, TE Connectivity will also establish a new location in Dornbirn. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
“This business unit was built at HENN with great innovative strength, extensive technical expertise and a high level of personal commitment. With TE Connectivity, the business will now benefit from an international environment in which the solutions developed can be scaled globally and integrated into new vehicle platforms. At the same time, this step enables HENN to focus its resources even more effectively on the Group’s strategic growth areas,” said Martin Ohneberg, Owner and Group CEO of the HENN Connector Group.
“The future of the vehicle will be defined by highly integrated systems,” said Matthias Lechner, Senior Vice President Business Development at TE Connectivity. “With this step, we are deliberately expanding our portfolio towards intelligent end-to-end solutions that combine electrical connectivity, data transmission, and air and fluid management within a common architectural approach. We aim to actively shape the transformation of mobility and help our customers manage the increasing complexity of future vehicle generations.”
For HENN, the transaction also represents a significant step in the further strategic focus of the Group. Going forward, HENN will further strengthen its expertise in high-quality metal quick connectors and selectively advance the development of innovative connection solutions for demanding applications beyond the traditional automotive industry. The company will focus in particular on the megatrend of thermal management – from liquid-cooled data centres and renewable energy to wind power, automation and robotics, as well as defence and future applications in humanoid robots. HENN sees attractive growth potential wherever increasing electrical power requires reliable, high-performance and efficient connection technologies.
